Mechanics are still the basis of machinery
Now that everything is electric, who's going to fix my Rolls-Royce Corniche? Best to get it done now, while there are still mechanics who know the basis of machinery. My view has always been that science and maths are not in any way the truth, they are just an attempt to understand the world. Abstract painting is another, so are the 32 piano sonatas of Beethoven and so, I contest, is brewing beer.
